Discoverer

Discoverer and your NETID Password

Discoverer accounts often get locked after a user has updated their NETID password. This is caused because Discoverer saves your password when you create/update your Discoverer Connection. After a NETID Password is modified, a Discoverer user must manually update their Discoverer Connection. If this connection is not updated, the saved password will not match the new NETID Password value and the Discoverer account will get locked after many failed attempts to authenticate. To avoid this, after a Discoverer user changes their NETID password, they need to also update their Discoverer Connection (pencil icon on logon screen). After entering their latest NETID password into the connection details, the user clicks APPLY [not Change Password button] and Discoverer will then allow the connection.

When re-creating or updating a Discoverer Connection, the user must be careful to select the correct End-User-Layer (EUL) for their needs. There are two different EULs to choose from: DW_DSC (HDW / FDW related connections) and DM_DSC ( Student related connections - student data, course data, etc. ). If the user does not select the correct EUL where their access has been provisioned, their reports will not be available. If this occurs, update the connection and select the other EUL.

For Discoverer Access requests that are RIAS related (FDW, HDW), please follow the link below for instructions on how to request this access (find "SYSTEM ACCESS"): [Financial Data Warehouse or the HCM (HR) Data Warehouse] PDF Access Forms for RIAS Access Requests.
